There's a lot to know about downloading brushes, but here's an intro:
1. Brushes are (usually) like stamps,
you click once and there's a cute little graphic of
some kind.
2. You need Adobe Photoshop 6 or better to use these
brushes. Each brush info page has a version
compatibility section--pay attention to it. Some
brushes are only compatible with Photoshop CS 2 or
better, which not a lot of people have yet 'cause
it's so expensive.
How to download?
1. Left click the "download"
option. You'll need to save the file to your
computer in order to use it, so click "save".
WARNING: If you don't trust a
website, don't download files from them! Downloading
puts your computer in jeopardy. I don't put anything
nasty in my download files because I'm not that kind
of person, but the scope of things that a bad
download could do to your computer is practically
boundless. I'll say it again: DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM A
WEBSITE UNLESS YOU TRUST IT. Thank you.
2. Most of my downloads are in the form of
zip folders. You must download the .zip file, save
it to your desktop or in another folder you'll be
able to easily access, and then "unzip" it. It's an
easy process. Just open the zipped folder and
copy/paste the files somewhere else.
How to apply?
1. Open Adobe Photoshop, create a new document, and select the brush tool. Right-click on the document to open the brush menu. Click the little arrow in the upper right-hand corner to open the menu options, then go down to the option "Load Brushes", navigate to your saved brush file, which should have the .abr extension, and select it. There's a little tutorial graphic for Photoshop CS 2 here, if you want it.
